Last September, Starlights (VIXX fans) got very excited with the news of a new VIXX single titled “Parallel” that was going to be released on September 19. It was the breath of fresh air fans were looking forward to since the group hasn’t had a comeback for around a year already. With the exception of leader N who is in the army, the digital release pushed through, and a music video was uploaded. However, after only minutes in the internet, the video titled “빅스 (VIXX) – ‘평행우주’ (PARALLEL) Offical M/V” was deleted.
It immediately caused confusion but many assumed different reasons as to why it got removed. Some said that there might have been a mistake in the video and the more plausible theory is that the MV will be released after the group’s concert of the same title. However, non of these was proved because up to this day, Stone Music Entertainment (VIXX’s music distributor) is yet to officially re-upload the music video of “Parallel”.
Jellyfish Entertainment and Stone Music Entertainment never addressed the issue and is seemingly acting as if nothing actually happened! Some accounts even claim that the group’s main vocalist Leo denied that they ever shot a music video for their digital single. This is mysterious as even VIXX treats the video as non-existent, like the (in)famous black lipstick performance of Hyde.
Some may think that perhaps it is just a mishap or a mislabeled video since Jellyfish and VIXX really won’t do anything in promotion of “Parallel” as it is only a digital single and not an official comeback. That theory further got debunked as VIXX’s official YouTube channel uploaded a dance practice video to “Parallel”, proving that it is not just a mere single.
Since Stone Music Entertainment, Jellyfish Entertainment, and even VIXX members deny the existence of the music video, a huge question arise to the minds of many. Was there really a music video for “Parallel”?
The answer is a big YES. If they are fooling anyone, it surely aren’t Starlights. Some were able to instantly download the music video the instant it came out, so currently, there are unofficial uploads of the “Parallel” MV floating in the internet. If you search the keyword “VIXX Parallel MV” on search engines, you may see a copy in different video streaming sites. As someone who already watched it, I can say that it looks 100% legitimate as it is high quality, fits the concept of the song, and most of all the members can be seen lipsynching to the song’s lyrics.
This occurrence has already became a huge inside joke between the fans of VIXX. With Starlights being used to VIXX’s previous mysteries and events, many are now speculating what the reasons are for these turns of events.

There is still no clarity though as to what happened, why it got deleted, and will it ever be officially uploaded. You can find the song on music streaming sites like melOn, Genie, Spotify, and iTunes. Maybe we will indeed find the official music video in a “Parallel” universe.
As for VIXX’s current whereabouts, N and Leo are currently serving the military with the latter enlisting just today; Ravi went separate ways with Jellyfish but remains a VIXX member; Ken is currently active in musicals; Hongbin is active as a streamer and; Hyuk is preparing for his first ever solo concert. While they are effectively on a hiatus as a group, all members are active in their own respects.
