Halloween can sometimes mean a period of change, often reflecting that of stress. With a few recommendations listed here, it is worth noting that they can also be enjoyed for listening in and out of the usual season.
Before we head into it, however, I will share an instrumental to set the mood for the remainder of this read.
Lee Byung Woo – Prologue Ver. 2
The arrangement of the piano and strings sits with the stillness and emptiness felt from listening to the composition. It manages to elicit intense feelings of sadness and channels a moody vibe — a common feeling experienced when listening to the other songs mentioned.
Brown Eyed Girls – Abandoned
The production of the video captures a sentimental quality. The accompanying visuals also present a delicious mix of the eerie and spooky. It remains emotionally captivating, reflecting a strong and compelling effort from the quartet.
2NE1 – It Hurts
The video is in keeping with the tradition of Halloween. The gothic-inspired aesthetics and visuals is one aspect that contributes to the lasting impact of the song. The journey of the protagonist, one filled of pain, combines with this immense perceived sense of suffering and loneliness.
(G)I-DLE – Put It Straight
The song manages to invoke feelings of melancholy and despair within the listener. Slight differences exist in the original audio and the arrangement used for Queendom. In the rearrangement, there is inclusion of rap verses, for example. Moreover, it brings forward an energy for the visual aspect of its performance.
