PSYCHIC FEVER is a 7-member group from LDH JAPAN. Formed in 2019, the band consists of the highest achieving talents from EXPG STUDIO (an LDH-run dance academy) from all across Japan. PSYCHIC FEVER from EXILE TRIBE includes Tsurugi, Ryoga Nakanishi, Ren Watanabe, JIMMY, Kokoro Kohatsu, Ryushin Handa and WEESA. On 13 July 2022, the band made their brand new debut as “PSYCHIC FEVER from EXILE TRIBE” and with the release of their major debut album “P.C.F.“!
Congrats on the release of your major debut album “P.C.F.,” it debuted #2 on the Weekly Oricon Album Chart! How does it feel to finally make your debut?
We have been active as PSYCHIC FEVER for 3 years, and in our 4th year, we’re so happy to finally make our debut. It feels like things are only just beginning! It’s a dream to have been given the title ‘from EXILE TRIBE’, but with that comes a lot of responsibility, so we’ll be working hard in order to deliver great performances to you all.
“Spark It Up” has been my favorite off the album so far, any tracks on the album that you personally like?
It would have to be our title track “Choose One”. The melody is bright and energetic, and the lyrics goes straight to your heart, so we hope it will be a song that uplifts and encourages all listeners to take any challenges that come your way, and make those hard choices. It’s a song that will lift you up whenever you listen to it.
“Choose One” has a modern groovy and chill feel compared to the rest of the album! What was your favorite part when recording this track and would you like to tell us more about the song itself?
We wanted the song to convey the idea of “All of the members working together to make our shared dream come true”. It’s our statement of determination, and it means a lot to us especially as this is the song released on the day of our band’s official debut. We want to strive forward together with our listeners. It’s a song that embodies those feelings, so let’s all do our very best!
It was announced last month that PSYCHIC FEVER from EXILE TRIBE will go to Thailand for 6 months starting in August. How excited are you guys for this opportunity?
What we feel is now is excitement for our new challenges. The first thing is that we look forward to working together with F.HERO. We can’t wait to hear how he’s going to interpret the PSYCHIC FEVER vibes! We also want to learn more from him and his team seeing that this is going to be the first time we are going to be out of Japan as a group and into Thailand. We believe it will be very different, but a very good experience learning from others. We also want to take advantage of this opportunity to touch the culture and people of Thailand, so that they get to know who we are. We want to bring our music to as many people.
If you could perform internationally, where would you want to perform?
We want to do a stadium tour in the US. Sofi Stadium, Los Angeles has been our ultimate dream to perform live and in front of a big audience. We really want to make our entertainment accessible worldwide. Recently, Sofi Stadium is the hottest venue ever.
What is your favorite part about singing and performing?
We’ve taken inspiration from so many other artists. We’ve found our dreams through them, we have been moved by them, and decided to become artists ourselves. We spent a long time working hard before making this debut. Many of us worked as backup dancers, and all of us loved music since we were little. Our music and performance tell how we spent that time and that love of ours for music. As PSYCHIC FEVER, and as LDH artists, we want to bring you as much Love, Dream & Happiness as we can.
If there’s anything you’d like to mention to international fans, what would it be?
While this is really just the beginning, we will keep pushing our hardest to keep bringing our own flavour of entertainment and eventually to realize our dreams together with our fans. Please root for PSYCHIC FEVER, we won’t let you down! To our fans in Southeast Asia, see you all really soon!
I’d like to thank PSYCHIC FEVER from EXILE TRIBE for taking the time to answer all of these questions in detail. Was there something awesome or new that you learned about their debut album and where you like them to go if they did a world tour? Leave your comments down below!
