Korean Artist of the Week – (Oct. 13 – Oct. 19) – Phantom

Phantom (팬텀)

Phantom is a hip hop/R&B trio formed by Hanhae (한해), Sanchez (산체스) and Kiggen (키겐), under Brand New Music label. On September 6, 2011, the group released the stunning medley “청소년이 들으면 안되는 사랑 노래 (19 song)” (Love Songs That Teens Cannot Listen To), an arrangement of songs banned by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family (MOGEF) of South Korea. The song contains lyrics by popular banned songs like TVXQ‘s “Mirotic“, DJ DOC‘s “I’m This Kind of Person“, Vibe’s “I’m Always Drinking“, GD&TOP‘s “Knock Out” and “Don’t Go Home“, 10cm‘s “Americano“, and 2PM‘s “Hands Up“.

On November 24, 2011, Phantom released teaser singles “Hole In Your Face” and “Seaweed Soup” before making their official debut on August 16, 2012. source
