Missing Lovelyz | Where are the members of the multi-talented and vocally superior girl group now?

It was 2014 when Woollim Entertainment debuted their first ever girl-group, the eight-piece ensemble, Lovelyz. The group debuted with a studio album “Girls’ Invasion” along with the title track “Candy Jelly Love” and since then became known for their flawless discography, gorgeous visuals, and overflowing talents. Among their vast repertoire of superb music, their most popular songs include “Ah-Choo”, “Destiny”, and “Twinkle”.

Sadly, as 2021 came to an end, Woollim Entertainment announced that seven out of eight members would be leaving the company. Although the members have assured the fans they wouldn’t disband, the company have already hidden the group from their official website (their previous webpage can be accessed through http://lvlz8.com). As the members are now walking their own paths, let’s check out what the eight muses of our favorite girl group are doing right now!

Lee Sujeong (Baby Soul)

Lee Sujeong, formerly known by her stage name Baby Soul, is the only member of Lovelyz who remained with Woollim Entertainment.

She is the group’s leader, main vocal, and was also the longest serving trainee of the group; as a matter of fact, she trained with the members of INFINITE before they debuted in 2010. The company announced that she will continue activities as a solo artist under her own given name, however there are no announcements of any musical activities from Lee Sujeong thus far.

You can follow her on Instagram @leesujeong0706 and Twitter @LEESUJEONG.

Yoo Jiae

Yoo Jiae trained at Woollim after being featured in INFINITE’s pre-debut show “You Are My Oppa” where she became the seven boys’ younger sister and soon debuted as the visual of Lovelyz. After the expiration of her contract, Yoo Jiae left Woollim and has since signed with YG K-Plus as an actress and entertainer.

She recently concluded her first individual fanmeet “Winter Fanmeeting – Yoo Jiae’s 30 Story” and referred to her individual fans as Carney (카니). Fans can also look forward to her upcoming horror web series “4 Minutes and 44 Seconds” with INFINITE’s Sungyeol, SHINee’s Onew, and more!

You can follow her on Instagram @9.3.0521 and subscribe to her YouTube channel where she posts various content and usually does live broadcasts.

Seo Jisoo

Another Lovelyz member known for her gorgeous looks is Seo Jisoo, a sub-vocalist and one of Lovelyz’s main dancers. After leaving Woollim, Seo Jisoo has signed with Mystic Story as an actress; but even before that, she has already been active as an idol-actress.

Webdrama fans may remember her as the lead actress of the popular romance webseries “One Fine Week” and “One Fine Week Season 2”. She was also cast in the upcoming horror series “Goedam Season 2” which was supposed to air last year but got pushed back for unknown reasons.

Lee Mijoo

Don’t call yourself a kpop fan if you don’t know this queen!

Lee Mijoo is Lovelyz’s other main dancer as well as a vocalist who is well known for being a prominent figure in Korean variety shows! Ever since debut, Lee Mijoo has been garnering tons of attention for her visuals, talents, and impeccable wit and variety sense! She left Woollim and signed with Antenna Music, the agency of her “Sixth Sense” and “Hangout With Yoo” co-star Yoo Jaesuk.

Her career as an entertainer is nothing but prosperous for she is currently appearing on several shows like “Learnway S2”, “TMI News”, “Hangout With Yoo”, and will soon be appearing in the 3rd season of “Sixth Sense”. She also bagged tons of endorsement deals including cosmetics brand “VIDIVICI”, bags line “Oryany”, and online shopping center “MUSINSA”.

Lee Mijoo recently made buzz after winning the highly coveted Rookie Award at the MBC Entertainment Awards! You can follow her on Instagram @queen.chu_s.

Kei / Kim Jiyeon

Lovelyz’s reputation for their superior vocal prowess wouldn’t be complete without their main vocalist, Kei! Active in both the stage name and her given name Kim Jiyeon, Kei is the Lovelyz member whose career has bloomed since leaving Woollim. Recently, she signed with Palm Tree Island not as an actress, not as a solo artist, not as entertainer, but as a musical actress!

With her phenomenal singing skills, it is a well-fitting career as shown by her amazing lead performances in the musicals “Midnight Sun” and “Excalibur”!

She will soon be seen in the musical adaptation of “Death Note” which is raved by musical fans from Korea. Check out Kei’s activities on Instagram @_flower_kei.

Park Jiwoo (Park Myungeun/JIN)

Lovelyz’s youngest main vocalist used to go by the stage name JIN when the group was still active but has always been called Park Myungeun by her fans as a sign of affection. Myungeun then had a legal change of name and is currently known as Park Jiwoo!

Unlike the other members, she wasn’t reported to have been in discussions with any company, and is rather being active on YouTube instead. Compared to her time in Woollim, Park Jiwoo definitely is more free right now and has the freedom to release the content she wants and communicate directly with fans!

The name Park Jiwoo’s YouTube channel is her nickname, myungnee, where she posts various vlogs and song covers. She’s also active on Instagram with the same handle!

Ryu Sujeong

Lovelyz songs will not be complete without the soulful voice of their lead vocalist, Ryu Sujeong! Like Park Jiwoo, Ryu Sujeong hasn’t signed with any company yet after leaving Woollim, however, it has been previously reported that she was in discussions with Flex M.

She is now taking a break from the idol life and is active in other fields! She recently became a trending topic after performing a cover of D-Hack’s “Ohayo My Night”. The original song received polarizing views but Sujeong’s rendition garnered much praise and gave the song positive attention.

Ryu Sujeong is very active on Instagram @iloveryu._ where she posts very gorgeous updates! There are recent fan speculations that Ryu Sujeong will be joining another company soon so stay tuned!

Jeong Yein

Last but not the least is Lovelyz’s youngest member, vocalist, and lead dancer, Jeong Yein! Although she is the member with the least training time, she was able to quickly adapt with the rest of the team to create Lovelyz’s one-of-a-kind synergy! Since leaving Woollim, she signed with SUBLIME.

She is also the first Lovelyz member to release solo music after leaving Woollim. She debuted as a solo artist under her new company on January 25 with her self-written and self-composed debut single “Plus n Minus” showcasing her sweet and addicting vocals!

Fans can follow Jeong Yein on Instagram @happpy_yein.

It may take a long time before we witness Lovelyz together again but let’s believe the girls when they say they haven’t disbanded yet! While our favorite girl group is taking a break with the members going their own paths, let us remember the happy times they gave us and their flawless music to live by.
