For any fan, reading the word ‘comeback’ in a news article or hearing it from a reliable source, is enough to make anyone jump in excitement and happiness. In K-pop, it’s a common thing for groups to make music comebacks more than once in a single year. Unfortunately, that’s not always the case. There are times when some groups or solo artists don’t get the luxury to grace the stage as often as their fans desire. Below are the artists that fans can’t wait to hear again on their playlist soon.
f(x)
Without a doubt, f(x) is one of the iconic groups in the industry. Despite possessing an experimental style of music, it didn’t stop them from having numerous hits under their belt and become recognized globally. It’s been two years since the release of their single for SM Station “All Mine”, which still has that captivating f(x) sound.
Although the girls are busy with their solo activities, fans can’t deny how badly they miss seeing them perform on stage again with brand new songs. If you think about it, their solo concert and even fandom name came in late in their careers, compared to other big names in K-pop. With fingers crossed, MeUs wish f(x) will finally make their awaited return to the limelight.
Lee Hi
Upon first stepping onto the audition platform of K-pop Star Season 1, Lee Hi easily busted into the hearts of K-pop fans with her undeniable charisma and talent. After a successful debut with hit singles like “1,2,3,4” and “Rose”, the stars seem to be aligned well for the young artist.
But who would’ve thought that things would take a different turn after her debut? She went on a three-year hiatus, which is pretty surprising, knowing how impactful her debut was. In 2016, she made a return with her second album Seoulite which was received well by many. Fast forward to 2018, and she looks like to be in the missing-in-action list again. Luckily, the drought ended for her fans with the recent release of her cover of 1975 classic “Bohemian Rhapsody”. Hopefully, this is an indication that Lee Hi will also release an album soon.
ONE
Starting his career as a member of the now disbanded hip-hop duo 1Punch, and appearances in the survival show, Show Me The Money, One is no longer a stranger in the K-Pop scene. That’s why fans became excited when he moved to YG Entertainment and later made his debut with the single album “One Day”.
However, despite YG’s notorious reputation for his erratic comeback calendar among fans, it didn’t lessen their disappointment when there was no follow-up comeback after his debut in July 2017. Although he made several television appearances as an actor, his supporters are wondering when he’ll return to the music wonderland again. Many fans believe that One has still a lot of things to show as an artist.
Orange Caramel
Orange Caramel marked their debut in 2010 which became a commercial success. From here on out, the group continued releasing music, partnered with fascinating concepts just like their singles “Magic Girl” and “A-ing”.
It’s been four years already since they last made a comeback, and fans are eager to hear a statement from Pledis regarding the current status of the sub-unit. With After School having an unclear future right now, Orange Caramel still carries a glimpse of hope for fans of the group that they’ll be seeing them again under the dazzle of the spotlight.
15&
In an industry dominated by a countless number of boy and girl groups, this duo from JYP Entertainment instantly registered on everyone’s radar for their soothing voices and eargasmic songs. In an interview last September with Soompi, Park Jimin talks about the duo’s future. “We’re going to be concentrating on our own music for a while. The music we want to show is different. Yerin is extremely good at indie, and I want to do pop R&B. Someday, when we get into each other’s places through our individual genres, we might meet again and play music [together],” she shares. Whatever is in store for 15&, fans are surely hoping the wait won’t be too long to see them again.
