OH! Chart 180529 Results – Boy group bounces to big win

A dominant boy group stunned the competition with a landslide win. Chart mainstays were left to scramble for decent results.

How the OH! Chart system works:

The chart is divided into three different categories: Gaon Digital Score (60%), Hanteo Physical Sales (15%), and OH User Voting (25%). OH users are allowed to vote and have a say in the overall chart ranks of certain songs each week. OH users can vote for more than one nominee but cannot vote for the same nominee more than once. Every week, data from the three categories will be gathered and weighted accordingly. The artists with the highest scores will make it onto the chart. If an artist wins a triple crown, their results will not be recorded in future charts.

Results:

Leading boy group BTS made a triumphant return to the competition with their latest smash hit, “Fake Love”, taking out first place on 24.93 points. Last week’s winners GFRIEND missed out on a triple crown for “Time for the Moon Night” by coming second with 12.68 points. Fellow former winners, Loco and Hwasa, rounded out the top three with “Don’t Give It To Me” on 10.89 points.

BTS’ landslide win was consolidated with an earth-shattering result in the physicals, selling a whopping 451,416 copies. Rookie girl group Dreamcatcher also sold well to finish second with 10,307 copies. The Boyz wrapped up the podium spots on 8424 copies.

Loco and Hwasa were unbeatable once again in the digitals category, recording 44,532,910 hits. Following closely behind was GFRIEND, who took out second place with 41,006,851 hits. Resurgent soloist Nilo continued his strong digitals run to claim third place on 37,012,350 hits.

In the OH! category, BTS won first spot on 46 votes. TWICE notched 40 votes in second place. GFRIEND rounded out the top three on 36 votes.

NO.1 SPOTLIGHT: BTS

Previous ranking: Not applicable

BTS has returned to the K-pop scene with a dramatic and passionate called “Fake Love”. The song features a sentimental yet up-beat instrumental, impactful vocals and punchy rap. There is a whole lot of soul-searching happening in the MV, where the members adopt an angsty vibe, especially with several scenes featuring water and fire. Overall, it is another breathtaking and catchy track by BTS, who never fails to deliver high quality music.

Can BTS go back-to-back? Will a debutant take over the competition? Or will former winners crawl their way back to the top? Let us know your thoughts below!
