IU, once again, is a true force to be reckoned with, catapulting to the top of OH! Chart this week with digital single BBIBBI. We’re pretending to be shocked.
How the OH! Chart System Works:
The chart is divided into three different categories: Gaon Digital Score (60%), Hanteo Physical Sales (15%), and OH User Voting (25%). OH users are allowed to vote and have a say in the overall chart ranks of certain songs each week. OH users can vote for more than one nominee but cannot vote for the same nominee more than once. Every week, data from the three categories will be gathered and weighted accordingly. The artists with the highest scores will make it onto the chart. If an artist wins a triple crown, their results will not be recorded in future charts.
Results:
IU‘s BBIBBI barely felt the competition this week on Gaon digital chart but this was not for lack of trying on her competitors’ part. Former and current Show Me The Money participants, including the likes of Loco, made their presence known as they usually do, but IU clearly had the stronger hold on South Korea’s general populace. The soloist surged all the way to the top, scoring 65,622,042 points. Meanwhile, Loco‘s “It Takes Time” featuring Colde, earned 58,422,504 points. Soloist Lim Chang Jung‘s “There Hasn’t Been a Day I Haven’t Loved You” came in third with 53,317,065 points.
Senior group Super Junior take the lead in the physicals category this week, with “One More Time” amassing 86,972 copies sold. Following them is fellow SM Entertainment labelmate NCT 127 who sold 74,499 copies of “Regular – Irregular” with the title track “Regular“. Rookie girl group fromis_9 gives the boys a run for their money by selling 15,372 copies of their album, featuring title track “Love Bomb“.
The most impressive outcome when it came to OH user votes were NCT 127 and fromis_9. NCTzens and fans of fromis_9 outnumbered the rest, giving the group 24 and 22 votes respectively. This, especially, gave NCT 127 a much-needed boost in the overall ranking this week. Former OH! Chart toppers iKON received 14 votes, but alas, it was not enough to extend their stay at the top.
Nevertheless, none of that could shake digital queen IU‘s “BBIBBI” from her throne this week. NCT 127 still managed to clinch second place, though, thanks to their dedicated following. Loco ft. Colde take third place with “It Takes Time“.
