OH! Chart 181106 | Digital Monster IU Triumphs for a Second Week with BBIBBI!

Nation’s digital monster IU puts an early end to NCT 127’s reign and reclaims her throne on this week’s OH! Chart. Who run the world? Girls.

How the OH! Chart System Works:

The chart is divided into three different categories: Gaon Digital Score (60%), Hanteo Physical Sales (15%), and OH User Voting (25%). OH users are allowed to vote and have a say in the overall chart ranks of certain songs each week. OH users can vote for more than one nominee but cannot vote for the same nominee more than once. Every week, data from the three categories will be gathered and weighted accordingly. The artists with the highest scores will make it onto the chart. If an artist wins a triple crown, their results will not be recorded in future charts.

Results:

This week, a grand total of zero idol group made it into the top 10 of Gaon digital chart. Digital monster IU led the rest of the non-idol pack as BBIBBI scored 62,935,954 points, leaving the rest behind by a large margin. Meanwhile, second placer Yang Da Il lagged behind on 47,608,843 points with his mellow Sorry. R&B duo VIBE‘s Fall in Fall followed closely behind Yang Da Il with 45,178,892 points.

Back in the physical sales category, though, boy groups predictably dominated physical sales. MONSTA X‘s selling power gave them a massive chance at topping OH! Chart, with 92,273 copies of Take.1 Are You There? sold, ahead of JYP Entertainment rookies Stray Kids who sold 30,897 copies of I Am You. Previous chart-topper NCT 127 fell to third place this week, selling 25,490 copies of Regular – Irregular.

Surprisingly, neither NCT 127 nor MONSTA X came through in the OH user voting category. It was rookie girl group fromis_9 who won the hearts of OH users, securing a majority of the votes from a whopping 32 voters. NCT 127 came in second with 22 votes, while IU received 10 votes in total.

At the end of the day, IU decided that boys have had their fun last week, and has reclaimed BBIBBI’s debut position at the top. Alas, Monsta X‘s lack of votes and digital score ultimately cost them their crown but, nevertheless, came in a respectable second place. The most impressive turnout, however, is fromis_9, who secured the third place, against all odds, thanks to OH users who loved Love Bomb above all others this week!

Top 13:

  1. IU – BBIBBI (Gaon: 62,935,954 | Hanteo: 0 | OH: 10 | Total: 12.2)
  2. MONSTA X – Shoot Out (Gaon: 0 | Hanteo: 92,273 | OH: 7 | Total: 10.7)
  3. fromis_9 – Love Bomb (Gaon: 0 | Hanteo: 5,310 | OH: 32 | Total: 9.6)
  4. NCT 127 – Regular
  5. Zion T ft. Seulgi (of Red Velvet) – Hello Tutorial
  6. Yang Da Il – Sorry
  7. Vibe – Fall in Fall
  8. Lim Chang Jung – There Has Never Been A Day I Haven’t Loved You
  9. pH-1, Kid Milli, Loopy – Good Day
  10. Shaun – Way Back Home
  11. Loco ft. Colde – It Takes Time
  12. Loopy ft. Paloalto – Save
  13. Stray Kids – I Am You
  14. Paul Kim – Every Day, Every Moment
  15. ATEEZ – Pirate King

No.1 SPOTLIGHT: IU

Previous ranking: Second

Digital monster IU is at it again, enchanting South Korean listeners’ hearts with her soft tone in BBIBBI long enough for her to snatch the crown, after previously losing it to NCT 127, once more. Do you agree with their taste? Or do you wish someone else had topped OH! Chart this week? Let us know your thoughts and predictions in the comments down below!

However, do note that OH! Chart will be going on an indefinite break for maintenance from next week onwards. Anticipate OH! Chart’s return soon!
