OH! Chart 190327 | Epik High’s LOVEDRUNK Debuts At #1

Mogwai by Mogwai
March 27, 2019
in Korean Entertainment, OH! Chart
0

Fresh off their departure from YG Entertainment, hip hop trio Epik High continue to prove their class — including on OH! Chart.

How the OH! Chart System Works:

The chart is divided into three different categories: Gaon Digital Score (60%), Hanteo Physical Sales (15%), and OH User Voting (25%). For each weekly cycle of the chart, OH users can vote for more than one nominee. However, they cannot vote for the same nominee more than once. Chart Masters will then gather the data and crunch the numbers. Once an artist achieves three wins with one song (a triple crown!), this song will be excluded from future charts.

Results:

This week, Epik High leaves absolutely no room for competition on Korean digital charts as they dominate all of them with LOVEDRUNK, scoring 61,851,810 points on Gaon. Second place N.Flying‘s Rooftop does not come close even as they hold steady at 48,624,356 points themselves. Kassy‘s The Day Was Beautiful also remains in third place, garnering 40,701,036 points.

It’s the ladies’ turn to top physical rankings this time around, though! Mamamoo’s title track Gogobebe debuts this week by selling 31,010 units of White Wind. In second place, former Wanna One member Kuanlin debuts in a duo with Pentagon’s Wooseok and sells 29,480 units of their mini-album 9801, repped by title track I’m A Star. The physicals are topped off by the return of Monsta X, who manage to move 19,175 units of Take.2 We Are Here, having previously charted out after Week 10.

TXT once again garners the most support from OneHallyu users with 31 votes. Meanwhile, Mamamoo is in second place with 21 votes while unfairly maligned former 2NE1 member Park Bom receives 19 votes.

None of them, however, stood a chance again Epik High. They didn’t even need votes to top OH! Chart with 10.56 points. For the first time in weeks, ITZY drops to fourth place, leaving the second place open for Mamamoo (9.56 points). N.Flying remains unchanged at third place, though, earning 9.01 points in total.

SPOTLIGHT: Epik High

Previous ranking: Not Applicable

Epik High‘s LOVEDRUNK is as depressing as it gets and you won’t even have to understand the lyrics to know. The song’s melody and overall delivery of lines say all that needs to be said here. Interestingly, Epik High chose to stray away from taking the title too literally and instead elected to depict IU and Jin Seo Yeon, engaged in battle, in their music video. What do you have to say about that? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.
