A former OH! Chart #1 makes her inevitable return to the tippity top — it’s none other than SNSD’s resident byuntae, leader, and vocals extraordinaire Kim Taeyeon with her new song ‘Four Seasons’.
How the OH! Chart System Works:
The chart is divided into three different categories: Gaon Digital Score (60%), Hanteo Physical Sales (15%), and OH User Voting (25%). For each weekly cycle of the chart, OH users can vote for more than one nominee. However, they cannot vote for the same nominee more than once. Chart Masters will then gather the data and crunch the numbers. Once an artist achieves three wins with one song (a triple crown!), this song will be excluded from future charts.
Results:
Taeyeon‘s ‘Four Seasons’ takes the lead in most of our categories this week, starting with a strong Gaon digital index score of 69,891,643. Not that far behind her in this category is Jang Beom Jun with ‘Every Moment With You’ that earns a weekly score of 61,581,453. Third place goes to last week’s OH! Chart #1, Baek Yerin, with her comeback ‘Maybe It’s Not Our Fault’ garnering 48,153,538 points.
When it comes to Hanteo physical sales, will we ever see the light at the end of the Produce 101 alumni tunnel? Three of them dominated sales once again — this time, it’s headed by former Wanna One member Park Jihoon making his solo debut with O’Clock. Led by title track ‘L.O.V.E’, O’Clock moves 88,616 copies on Hanteo. He eclipses JYP Entertainment’s boy group Stray Kids and their album Clé 1: MIROH, with its similarly titled lead single, which sees a total of 58,279 copies sold. Meanwhile, in third place are two more Produce 101 Season 2 alumni members, JBJ95; the duo manages to sell 11,405 copies of their album ‘Awake’.
Despite strong physical sales, the boys all suffer defeat in terms of OneHallyu voting, as Taeyeon‘s ‘Four Seasons’ gains a majority of OneHallyu users’ support with 30 votes. Still, Stray Kidz aren’t too shabby at all with their 25 votes while rookie group TXT gets some love from 24 voters.
Taeyeon‘s combination of Gaon score and OH votes sends ‘Four Seasons’ to the top with an overall score of 13.4. Fun fact: ‘Four Seasons’ would have ranked 2nd if it didn’t earn more than 16 votes, proving the irreplaceable importance of her fans. In second place is Park Jihoon who garners a total of 11.4 points and finally, Stray Kids round out the top 3 with Miroh, scoring 10.8 points.
