OH! Chart Results 180515 – Girl group grasps onto win

A popular girl group made a triumphant return to the competition. Fellow idol groups went up against soloists and rappers for the podium spots.

How the OH! Chart system works:

The chart is divided into three different categories: Gaon Digital Score (60%), Hanteo Physical Sales (15%), and OH User Voting (25%). OH users are allowed to vote and have a say in the overall chart ranks of certain songs each week. OH users can vote for more than one nominee but cannot vote for the same nominee more than once. Every week, data from the three categories will be gathered and weighted accordingly. The artists with the highest scores will make it onto the chart. If an artist wins a triple crown, their results will not be recorded in future charts.

Results:

Popular girl group GFRIEND returned to the competition with a comfortable win for “Time For the Moon Night” on 16.47 points. Former winners TWICE remained in second place with “What Is Love?” on 12.98 points. Last week’s victors Loco and Mamamoo’s Hwasa fell two spots to finish third for “Don’t Give It To Me” on 12.11 points.

GFRIEND’s win was steered by a strong victory in the physicals category, where they sold 30,224 copies. Project group UNB took out second spot on 21,379 copies. Rookies The Boyz rounded out the top three with 5547 copies.

Loco and Hwasa won the digitals for the second week in a row on 56,251,614 hits. Soloist Nilo once again impressed online listeners to come second with 40,061,510 hits. TWICE finished in third spot on 37,568,014 hits.

TWICE were invincible in the OH! category, after gaining 53 votes. GFRIEND polled 39 votes to take out second place. Talented girl group Mamamoo rounded out the top three on 25 votes.

NO.1 SPOTLIGHT: GFRIEND

Previous ranking: Not applicable

Talented girl group GFRIEND has comeback with “Time For The Moon Night” – a sentimental yet dramatic track. The song features mellow and girly vocals coupled with an instrumental reminiscent of Japanese anime songs. The girls capture a theme of supporting each other through tough times. This is reflected in several scenes where one member is suffering and the rest come together to cheer them up. Overall, it is a very solid release from GFRIEND that shows off their edgier side.

Can GFRIEND notch another win? Will another idol group take over? Or will a debutant rise to the challenge? Let us know your thoughts below!
