OH! Chart Results – Consistent contenders

A sky high score surpassed the field in this week’s OH! Chart. Despite having only three new nominees to compete with, the regulars fought hard to maintain their consistency.

How the OH!Chart system works:

The chart is divided into three different categories: Gaon Streaming and Downloads (55%), Hanteo Physical Sales (25%), and OH User Voting (20%). OH users are allowed to vote and have a say in the overall chart ranks of certain songs each week. OH users can vote for more than one nominee but cannot vote for the same nominee more than once. Every week, data from the three categories will be gathered and weighted accordingly. The artists with the 10 highest scores will make it onto the chart. If an artist wins a triple crown, their results will not be recorded in future charts.

Results:

Leading boy group EXO secured back-to-back OH! Chart wins for “Ko Ko Bop” by clinching 34.15 points – almost triple the score of second-placed Red Velvet. Red Velvet recorded their third-straight top three finish for “Red Flavor” with 10.68 points. Chart debutants NU’EST W kicked off their comeback on a high by placing third for “If You” on 8.80 points.

Despite selling less than half of last week’s physicals, EXO still easily won the category with 206,698 copies. Jung Yong Hwa maintained his place in second by selling a solid 15,687 copies. Veteran rock band Buzz took out third spot on 4801 copies.

EXO took home another victory in the downloads by recording 140,689 hits. Resurgent boy group NU’EST W (minus fellow member and Wanna One’s Minhyun) lived up to their current hype by placing second on 126,434 hits. Red Velvet came third on 97,031 hits. Meanwhile for the streaming category, digital queen Heize recorded a three-peat win with 6,850,556 hits. Red Velvet again were right behind the rapper on 6,690,846 hits. Fellow popular rapper ZICO claimed his second-straight third placing on 5,264,004 hits.

The OH! community favoured EXO who won 68 votes. Their label mates Red Velvet came second again with 55 votes, just two votes ahead of BLACKPINK on 53 votes.

NO.1 SPOTLIGHT: EXO

Previous ranking: First

EXO’s successful comeback promotions for “Ko Ko Bop” continues with another win. The track is unique and different to previous title tracks. “Ko Ko Bop” shows off a new side of the group and is the type of song that grows on you after a few more listens. Considering their early dominance on the OH! Chart, they will be hard to stop.

Can EXO record a three-peat? Will NU’EST W ride their new-found fame and post bigger numbers? Or will a debutant pull off an upset? Let us know your thoughts below!
