OH! Chart Results: Revived regulars

Regular campaigners, who fell down the pecking order, have returned to contest for top honours. With just five debutants taking the field, there is plenty to play for.

How the OH!Chart system works:

The chart is divided into three different categories: Gaon Streaming and Downloads (55%), Hanteo Physical Sales (25%), and OH User Voting (20%). OH users are allowed to vote and have a say in the overall chart ranks of certain songs each week. OH users can vote for more than one nominee but cannot vote for the same nominee more than once. Every week, data from the three categories will be gathered and weighted accordingly. The artists with the 10 highest scores will make it onto the chart. If an artist wins a triple crown, their results will not be recorded in future charts.

Results:

Arguably the trendiest boy group at the moment, Wanna One easily clinched back-to-back OH!Chart trophies for “Energetic”. The project group recorded a total of 25.84 points. Veteran singer and producer Yoon Jong Shin’s latest single “Like It” came runner-up on début, with 14.76 points. Former winners Red Velvet made a triumphant return to the podium for “Red Flavor” on 10.17 points.

Wanna One cruised to victory in the physicals category by selling 114,945 copies. NCT Dream followed their hoobaes in second place, after they sold 27,164 copies. Meanwhile, Yoon Jong Shin proved his everlasting fan power and rounded out the top three on 26,062 copies.

Yoon Jong Shin was unstoppable in taking out the downloads category on 153,827 hits. Wanna One also recorded six-figures on 100,108 hits. R’n’B king Taeyang wrapped up third place with 83,409 hits for “Darling”. Meanwhile, Yoon Jong Shin again took out the streaming category with a whopping 7,255,133 hits. Heize continued her strong streaming form by coming second for her duet with Shin Young Jae, “You, Clouds, Rain” (5,711,650 hits) ahead of Nucksal, Hanhae, Rhino & Jo Woochan ft. Dynamic Duo’s “N/1” (5,420,763).

SM girl group Red Velvet continued their voting prowess by winning the OH! category on 49 votes. Wanna One came runner-up after polling 38 votes. YG star Taeyang claimed third place on 25 votes.

NO.1 SPOTLIGHT: Wanna One

Previous ranking: First

Wanna One continues their dream début run by snagging another win for “Energetic”. The title track is marketable and catchy however it is the hype surrounding their visuals that makes it even more successful. Riding on the high of Produce 101 Season 2, the group are promoting hard left, right and centre. They thoroughly deserve the spotlight.

Can Wanna One snatch a three-peat? Will chart regulars return to the winners list? Or will the debutant’s luck continue next week? Let us know your thoughts below!
