OH! Chart Results: Tight finish to triple crown

A dominant force in the OH!Chart was tested by their competitors this week. Rappers and solo artists also ramped up their games in playing catch-up to the top.

How the OH!Chart system works:

The chart is divided into three different categories: Gaon Streaming and Downloads (55%), Hanteo Physical Sales (25%), and OH User Voting (20%). OH users are allowed to vote and have a say in the overall chart ranks of certain songs each week. OH users can vote for more than one nominee but cannot vote for the same nominee more than once. Every week, data from the three categories will be gathered and weighted accordingly. The artists with the 10 highest scores will make it onto the chart. If an artist wins a triple crown, their results will not be recorded in future charts.

Results:

Project boy group Wanna One withstood score pressure from other podium getters to win their first OH! Chart triple crown for “Energetic”. The boys recorded 18.82 points, just less than four points ahead of debutant and charismatic soloist Sunmi, who recorded 14.89 points for “Gashina”. Last week’s runner-up Yoon Jong Shin dropped to third place for his hit track “Like It” with 11.30 points.

Wanna One could not be stopped in winning the physicals category on after they sold 41,861 copies. Rising girl group DIA took second place on 17,806 copies. SM Entertainment rookies NCT Dream wrapped up the top three with 15,136 copies.

Former Wonder Girls member Sunmi proved her seniority in winning the downloads category on 174,383 hits. Fellow soloist Yoon Jong Shin continued his strong numbers to come second with 145,207 hits. Nucksal, Jo Woochan, Gaeko, Don Mills’ collaboration track, “I’m the Price” scored 70,128 hits to finish third. For the streaming category, Yoon Jong Shin powered to a comfortable win on 8,995,735 hits. Digital queen Heize claimed second place for her duet with Shin Yong Jae; “You, Clouds, Rain” on 5,498,409 hits. Wanna One scored 4,838,969 hits to wrap up the top three spots.

Sunmi slayed the OH! community by recording a whopping 46 votes. Popular girl group Red Velvet continued their consistent track record for this category by coming second on 38 votes. DIA ensured all-female acts finished in the top three after they polled 32 votes.

NO.1 SPOTLIGHT: Wanna One

Previous ranking: First

Wanna One becomes the third artist to claim triple crowns in the OH! Chart for “Energetic”. The project group has swept the K-pop industry since wrapping up Produce 101 Season 2. It is truly a smash hit because of it being very marketable and addicting tune. Although this week marks the end of their successful run on our chart system, it is likely to continue to prosper elsewhere.

Can Sunmi take a win in her second week? Will the podium see a return of steady performers? Or will a newbie pull a surprise? Let us know your thoughts below!
