OH! Chart is back! Maybe we’ve well and truly beaten our server woes, maybe we haven’t… we don’t really want to jinx it. Either way, our music chart is back after months of server hell and disrupted momentum, with some changes! And we’re kickstarting it with our first public voting in an eternity (scroll all the way down if you just wanna vote and go).
What is OH! Chart Again?
The primary goal of the OH! Chart is still to serve as a music charting system that is unique to the OneHallyu community… but it’s in need of some changes. So, here’s an overview of them:
OH! Chart Weightage
OH! Chart system has gone through some major changes. It will track top 10 songs on Gaon Monthly Digital Chart and the top five best-selling albums on Gaon Monthly Album Chart. Thus, only data from exceptional performers will be collected for both categories. We will then aggregate the data and rank the songs based on three voting categories: Streaming and Downloads (55% of votes), Physical Sales (20%) and OH! Press Reader Votes (25%). After each full month, OH! Chart will be updated to reflect the best-selling and most-loved songs.
OH! Chart Voting
Readers are allowed to vote right here on this blog! You can vote for more than one nominee on the first Sunday after Gaon’s monthly update.
How the Results are Calculated
The top 10 songs from Gaon Monthly Digital Chart and title songs of the top five albums from Gaon Monthly Album Chart are selected. Only data for exceptional performers from these two charts will be counted towards their scores. Those who perform exceptionally across the board will have the advantage of scoring in all of them. For the final scores, each song’s individual data for one category is divided by the sum of that category, then multiplied by our chosen percentage (i.e. 0.20 for physical sales). The grand total from each category is added together and multiplied by 100, forming the final score.
Let’s get cracking!
Oh yes, OH! Chart’s back at it again.
This month, K-drama OSTs and ballads have taken over the nominees. Do you agree with the charts? Cast your votes and make your voice heard! A single vote can flip the rankings in your favourite artist’s favour. Trust us, we’ve simulated every outcome possible.
