OH! Chart Week #6 Results

Powerful fandoms from some of K-Pop’s hottest idol groups showed their strength in week six of OH! Chart. However, established soloists put up a brave fight yet again. Reputation is on the line for the nominees this week.

How the OH! Chart system works:

The chart is divided into three different categories: Gaon Streaming and Downloads (55%), Hanteo Physical Sales (25%), and OH User Voting (20%). OH users are allowed to vote and have a say in the overall chart ranks of certain songs each week. OH users can vote for more than one nominee but cannot vote for the same nominee more than once. Every week, data from the three categories will be gathered and weighted accordingly. The artists with the 10 highest scores will make it onto the chart.

Results:

Two-year boy group SEVENTEEN stole the show by toppling week five’s mammoth winner, TWICE. The boys claimed their first win on their chart debut for “Don’t Wanna Cry” by scoring 20.05 points. TWICE’s “Signal” came second with 15.40 points, which was half the score of their winning score in week five. Global rapper PSY maintained his third placing for “I LUV IT” with 7.57 points.

SEVENTEEN dominated the physicals category, where they sold 188,256 copies, unrivalled by the rest of field. Next best was TWICE with 24,316 copies – a big dip from last week’s triple figured result. Rounding out the top three was YG Entertainment’s hip-hop group iKON with 21, 735.

For downloads, TWICE clinched first place with 141,462 ahead of San E ft. Bolbbalgan4’s “Mohae” (124,133 points) and PSY’s “I LUV IT” (106,611). PSY continued his strong download results with “New Face” placing fourth with 100,940 points. Streaming wise, TWICE shined again, recording 7,318,181 hits. Meanwhile PSY’s two monster tracks finished in second and third place with 7,196,773 and 6,733,596 respectively.

In the OH category, TWICE garnered the most love by recording 124 votes. Previous champions, WINNER, took second place with 63 votes ahead of SEVENTEEN (57 votes) and their YG hoobaes, iKON (55). OH! Chart regular Suran scored 30 votes for her hit song “Wine”.

No.1 Spotlight: SEVENTEEN

Previous ranking: Not applicable

Rising boy group SEVENTEEN rocked OH! Chart with their comeback track, “Don’t Wanna Cry”. This breathtaking and sentimental medium-tempo jam shows off a new, mature side of the group. It still features an addictive chorus, which has always been their bread-and-butter. Plus, the in-sync choreography is very impressive. “Don’t Wanna Cry” is likely to continue its early success.

Can SEVENTEEN muster higher downloads and streaming points to make back-to-back wins next week? Or will SISTAR make a triumphant debut with their last group release, “Lonely”? Let us know your thoughts below!
