OH!Chart Results 180320 – New nominee notches win

A new nominee stormed to the finish line ahead of the rest of the competition. Chart regulars withstood another handful of new nominees to record consistent results.

How the OH!Chart system works:

The chart is divided into three different categories: Gaon Digital Score (60%), Hanteo Physical Sales (15%), and OH User Voting (25%). OH users are allowed to vote and have a say in the overall chart ranks of certain songs each week. OH users can vote for more than one nominee but cannot vote for the same nominee more than once. Every week, data from the three categories will be gathered and weighted accordingly. The artists with the highest scores will make it onto the chart. If an artist wins a triple crown, their results will not be recorded in future charts.

Results:

Powerful girl group Mamamoo made a stunning return to the OH!Chart by winning their first crown for “Starry Night” on 18.02 points. Fellow girl group Momoland secured another podium finish in second place for “Bboom Bboom” on 10.40 points. Last week’s winners Red Velvet dropped two spots to third for “Bad Boy” with 10.29 points.

BTOB’s resident rapper Jung Ilhoon won the physicals category by a slim margin after selling 18,165 copies. This week’s winners Mamamoo followed closely behind on 17,155 copies. Infinite star Kim Sunggyu rounded out the top three with another strong result of 10,363 copies.

Mamamoo’s win was consolidated with a high score of 44,730,996 hits in the digitals category. Momoland claimed second place on 41,385,605 hits. Rapper Heize makes her return to OH!Chart proceedings with a third-place finish in the digitals for her comeback track “Jenga” featuring Gaeko on 39,854,674 hits.

In the OH! category, Mamamoo again dominated by winning first place on 50 votes. Red Velvet took out second with 44 votes. Rounding out the top three was WJSN who recorded 38 votes.

Previous ranking: Not applicable

Popular girl group Mamamoo’s comeback title track, “Starry Night” is an adventurous and sexy number. From sultry vocals to laid-back choreography, it is perfectly suited to listen while on a road trip or on a weekend. The girls pull off a powerful and attitude-filled theme that lures you in. Overall, the song is a bit different to the usual extravagant releases by the group but it definitely is a breath of fresh air and very addictive. It should continue to sell well on the charts.

Can Mamamoo go back-to-back? Will chart regulars push for the win? Or can another new nominee record a victory? Let us know your thoughts below!
