OH!Chart Results – Consistency prevails

A former triple crown winner bounces back up the ranks. With very small margins across the board, the competition for top spots is tighter than ever.

How the OH!Chart system works:

The chart is divided into three different categories: Gaon Streaming and Downloads (60%), Hanteo Physical Sales (15%), and OH User Voting (25%). OH users are allowed to vote and have a say in the overall chart ranks of certain songs each week. OH users can vote for more than one nominee but cannot vote for the same nominee more than once. Every week, data from the three categories will be gathered and weighted accordingly. The artists with the 10 highest scores will make it onto the chart. If an artist wins a triple crown, their results will not be recorded in future charts.

Results:

Girl group juggernault TWICE returned to the winners’ table for their smash hit “Likey” on 12.95 points. OH!Chart debutant and vocal supreme Naul clinched second spot with 11.78 points for his latest ballad, “Emptiness in Memory”. Last week’s winners Red Velvet fell to third place on 11.23 points for “Peek-A-Boo”.

Hwang Chi Yeul made a grand return to the competition thanks to a sudden rush of physical sales. The ballad king sold 80,000 copies. SM Entertainment’s senior group Super Junior came second with 24,952 copies. Cult boy group Wanna One finished third on 16,288 copies.

Naul easily won the downloads category after he notched 185,513 hits. Red Velvet took out second spot on 91,782 hits; just ahead of Yoon Jong Shin and Min Seo’s “Yes” which scored 90,031 hits. Yoon Jong Shin and Min Seo also posted strong numbers by winning the streaming on 6,955,852 hits. Popular duo Melomance’s “Gift” came second with 6,214,979 hits. Red Velvet rounded out the top three on 5,342,459 hits.

TWICE once again showed their consistency in winning the OH! category with 32 votes. Red Velvet came second on 15 votes. Wanna One and Super Junior were locked up in third spot with 7 votes each.

NO.1 SPOTLIGHT: TWICE

Previous ranking: Third

TWICE’s loveable track “Likey” has gained yet another win. The girls continue their success despite it being a month since the song was released. From the addictive chorus to the cute choreography; there is not much to fault with this one. While it may not be as dominant as their previous releases, it still impresses fans and casual K-pop listeners.

Can another former winner return to the top spot? Will a debutant pull a surprise? Or will the influx of ballad artists finally take over? Let us know your thoughts below!
