OH!Chart Results – Runaway winner races to win

The return of a former triple OH!Chart crown winner led to a landslide victory. This resulted in the mid-table nominees battling for the podium spots.

How the OH!Chart system works:

The chart is divided into three different categories: Gaon Streaming and Downloads (60%), Hanteo Physical Sales (15%), and OH User Voting (25%). OH users are allowed to vote and have a say in the overall chart ranks of certain songs each week. OH users can vote for more than one nominee but cannot vote for the same nominee more than once. Every week, data from the three categories will be gathered and weighted accordingly. The artists with the 10 highest scores will make it onto the chart. If an artist wins a triple crown, their results will not be recorded in future charts.

Results:

All-conquering girl group TWICE made a triumphant return to the OH!Chart by winning first place for their comeback track “Likey” on 31.33 points. Fellow idol group BTOB rose one spot to second for “Missing You” with 9.04 points. Last week’s winners EPIK HIGH dropped to third place for “Love Story” featuring IU on 8.86 points.

TWICE completely wiped out the competition in the physicals category by selling 119,772 copies. Former winners NU’EST W came second with 23,042 copies. GOT7 ensured idol groups dominated the top three spots after they sold 15,551 copies.

For downloads, TWICE clinched first place with 216,986 hits. EPIK HIGH continued their strong form in claiming second place for “Love Story” on 116,684 hits. Ballad king Sung Si Kyung’s latest track, “Holding On To You” came third with 109,812 hits. Melomance won first place in the streaming category for “Gift” on 7,933,404 hits. EPIK HIGH finished second with 7,502,191 hits. Bolbbalgan4 wrapped up the podium with 5,328,902 hits for “Some”.

TWICE was unrivalled in the OH! category by gaining 74 votes. Established boy group BTOB received 29 votes to come second. Just behind was NU’EST W, who notched 27 votes for “Where You At” in third spot.

NO.1 SPOTLIGHT: TWICE

Previous ranking: Not applicable

Cult girl group TWICE has returned to the K-pop scene with an energetic and colourful track, “Likey”. The girls have gone for a flirty vibe filled with cute vocals and a quirky, EDM-inspired instrumental. Once again, there is a very catchy chorus that is addictive and marketable. The MV shows snippets of the girls’ impressive choreography as well. All in all, it is another smash hit from TWICE that will grow on you after a few listens.

Will TWICE achieve back-to-back wins? Can former winners push for another crown? Or will a debutant shake up the competition? Let us know your thoughts below!
