OH!Press Feature : Throwback Thursdays 2

Welcome back to the second installment of OH!Press’s new feature, Throwback Thursdays!

Throwback Thursdays is a new feature of the blog where the team selects songs and dramas for first-timers to experience or second-timers to reminisce back to the good ol’ days.

Let’s find out this week’s pick, shall we?

Whenever I feel nostalgic, a familiar chorus plays out in my head.

I want nobody, nobody but you *claps claps*

Yes, Wonder Girls’s Nobody will forever have a special place in my heart, for it is the song that introduced me to the wonderful world of K-pop!

Nobody is an iconic song known to most K-pop fans around the world. The easy-to-sing-along nature of the song captured everyone’s hearts easily when it was first released back in 2008 (I can’t believe that it’s been 8 freaking years). Some remember it for the funny MV, when JYP had trouble taking a dump in peace. Others remember it for the dance and the chorus, as demonstrated by the plethora of dance covers on the internet. The song itself is incredibly catchy. I bet after one or two listens, most of us were able to sing the song at full. Yubin’s strong rap at the end was something new to me back in the day, for I’ve never heard any pop songs with a rap that had so much contrast – something I came to know was common in K-pop after some research.

I highly recommend this song as the first song to introduce to for all your Non-Kpop friends. Sure there are other songs out there, but might as well share the nostalgia with your good friend while you’re at it!
