Sorn has made her western debut with her latest single: “Sharp Objects”.
Channeling the energy of the band Cinema Bizarre, Sorn wanders among mannequins in this flashy music video. Would have been better without Michael Bay directing the shaky camera shots. The humour is a little awkward considering the over-all dark theme of the song.
The beat is very reminiscent of the well-know A-ha song, and has an overall 1980s feel to it. The groove makes you want to dance.
The lyrics are a mixture of poetry and typical vernacular in a modern-day song. Sorn’s voice, though, is delightful, even the hollow sounding parts of the song.
Sorn definitely shows off a side of her that had been long suppressed by her previous company. It’s refreshing to hear it in the track and see it in the music video.
It this is just a taste of what’s to come, then the listeners can happily expect more from Sorn.
