Tales of Christmas As Told by K-Pop Music Videos

For many, the month of December is the start of the perfect holiday break. After exhausting hours at work or school deadlines, you can now doze off in bed and enjoy. Everyone may be having their vacation, but it doesn’t stop the K-pop elves from giving out songs on your playlist chamber. Many artists are sending out heavenly songs, and as always, the fans just can’t get enough. As you ponder on what gift you’ll receive, why not immerse yourself in these music videos that give a different spirit of Christmas? Take a look!

Sing for You – EXO

EXO has regularly been part of winter’s music treat in the last years. Released in 2015, Sing for You is a song that’s far from glimmering lanterns, velvet ribbons, or towering Christmas trees. The music video exquisitely narrates a heartfelt story of longing, friendship, and anguish through a black and white montage. If the song can make you cry, watching this underappreciated masterpiece will make you grab more tissue from the box.

Miracle – GOT7

The fans are the people behind every idol’s career. Through the beautiful and tough times, they’re the ones who passionately wave their lightsticks to cheer the artist who inspires them. GOT7’s latest song Miracle shows a new perspective on the strong bond between the fan and the idol in a touching way.

All I Want for Christmas Is You – BOM&HI

You know it’s already the month of December once you hear this iconic song by Mariah Carey playing on the radio. In 2013, Park Bom and Lee Hi gave a new zest to the all-time favorite Christmas song. Aside from the duo’s angelic voices, the music video also goes in an unconventional route—concept wise. Bom and Lee Hi brilliantly take the sister bond into another realm. From the cinematography and visual aesthetics, All I Want for Christmas Is You is a beautifully haunting tale.

Snow – Zion T (feat. Lee Moon Sae)

The holiday season feels the best with the ones you love and value. However, not every story always ends in a happy ever after and sweet kisses. Sometimes, the person whom you want to spend the biggest moments of your life is no longer there. The music video of Zion. T’s Snow is well-thought out and has a gripping storyline that will surely take you into a heartfelt roller coaster ride.

Winter Breath – Sooyoung

Christmas came early for SONEs when Sooyoung released a tear-jerking ballad track for the cold weather. Despite having a simplistic music video style, Winter Breath rouses a mix of emotions and will deeply touch your heart while listening to the song.
