The Ultimate Autumn K-Pop Playlist

Ah, fall. The leaves are changing, the temperatures dropping. We’re now in the season where we no longer feel the need to blast Red Velvet’s Red Flavor on a beach, but not quite at the point where we start whipping out Ailee’s I Will Go To You Like The First Snow. We’re in a nice, cozy place in-between where the music gets just a bit softer and slower, while still maintaining a certain bittersweet flair. Luckily for us, in this season of many colors, K-Pop has given us tons of perfect tracks to accompany us on those chilly fall mornings and nights. From soloists to groups, from R&B to ballads, here’s just ten K-Pop tracks perfect for your autumn playlist.

Crush – Fall (어떻게 지내)

Although it’s pretty obvious a song called Fall would be perfect for fall, this song is seriously the best of the best. Crush’s smooth R&B vocals over a sweet and slow piano makes you feel the gentle cold of autumn, making it the perfect track to take a nice mid-afternoon walk to.

IU – 가을 아침 (Autumn Morning)

Originally sung by Yang Hee Eun, Autumn Morning was recently covered by beloved soloist IU. Partially performed in acapella, there is something particularly comforting about the sweet and charming voice of IU singing about the delightfulness of an early autumn morning. If you need something calm and joyful to start your day, this is certainly the track for you.

Taeyeon – 쌍둥이자리 (Gemini)

Taeyeon’s steadily growing solo repertoire has included many songs with a beautiful fall feel. Her entire first solo mini album, I, was very clearly released for the season back in 2015. But one song that particularly stands out as one of Taeyeon’s best is Gemini. Soft R&B over a ticking clock while Taeyeon’s angelic voice dances over it all creates the perfect track to listen to while watching the leaves fall slowly from the trees.

B.A.P – 쉽죠 (Easy)

Refreshing and relaxing, you can unwind with a warm cup of cider with B.A.P’s Easy. Released on their 2014 album First Sensibility, Easy gives listeners a bittersweet track that talks about the difficulties of letting a lover go. If you’re feeling a bit nostalgic over the past, Easy is the track to go to.

VIXX – 대답은 너니까 (ONLY U)

Unlike the tracks previously mentioned, VIXX’s Only U has a bit more roughness to it. A mid-tempo track driven by an electric guitar, Only U is a song that has the right amount of rawness and realness to accompany the incoming bitter cold weather.

Kyuhyun – 긴 팔 (Autumn Sleeves)

Let’s be real here; Super Junior’s Kyuhyun essentially owns the season of fall in K-Pop. His entire mini album Fall, Once Again is a clear testament of that. But if you’re in the market for a perfect fall ballad, look no further than Autumn Sleeves. It’s got that classic K-Pop ballad feel with just the right little details to make it perfect for the season.

Zion.T – Yanghwa Brdg (양화대교)

“Let’s be happy” is the sentiment of Zion.T’s 2014 track Yanghwa Brdg as his unique croons detail the struggles of his family. Mellow, cozy, and slightly sad, Yanghwa Brdg ushers us into a season to reminiscence with this slow R&B track.

BTS – 고엽 (Autumn Leaves)

An electronic track with lyrics about begging a lover not to leave like the leaves that fall off the trees, BTS’ Autumn Leaves is the perfect track for anyone looking for something not soft and slow like many fall tracks, yet still holding that seasonal feel in sound and lyrics.

Heize – 돌아오지마 (Don’t Come Back) [Feat. Highlight Yong Junhyung]

A jazz and R&B inspired track detailing a break-up, Heize and Junhyung serve listeners a cozy fall feel through every stroke of the guitar. If you need a good fall song for a drive through the city, Heize’s Don’t Come Back is the perfect go-to.

Jonghyun x Youngbae -가을이긴 한가 봐 (It Must Be Autumn)

An acoustic driven track released for Monthly Live Connection, SHINee’s Jonghyun and Soran’s Youngbae collaborate to make the gorgeous, mellow fall track that is It Must Be Autumn. Jonghyun and Youngbae’s voice mix beautifully as they sing about the sadness that comes with fall, just waiting for their unrequited love to finally speak to them again. If you need to get in your feelings, or just want that bittersweet fall vibe, It Must Be Autumn will make you feel a million different things at once with every melody.
